New Head of History-Geography Department

We are delighted to announce that Isaac Leaver is the new Head of History-Geography at SIS Paris Ouest, teaching at both the collège and lycée levels. Born and raised in rural Gloucestershire in the south-west of England, Isaac went to St Andrews in Scotland where he received an MA in Latin and Mediaeval History. He then crossed half the globe to Shanghai, where he first was a teacher of history, classics and literature and organised educational study tours to Europe and the Yunnan province. Later, he joined the international section at the Lycée Français de Shanghai, with a specialism in LCA (Langues et Culture de l’Antiquité.) In his spare time, he completed first an MSc in Psychology with the University of Leicester with a focus on the relationship between social complexity and personality profiles and latterly his PGCE with the University of Sunderland.

Now returning to Europe with his French wife, Margot, Isaac is immensely excited to be taking up the History-Geography baton at SIS Paris Ouest as well as the role of coordinator of the MUN club. It was during a Year 7 (6ème) class trip to Notre Dame that Isaac’s love of Mediaeval History was first roused, and so— after a long peregrination— settling in Paris has the sense of an intellectual homecoming.
